Shadows is about a group of teenage girls who have just finished school and walk home through the park. There were four girls but one of them leaves to go do some homework. The three other girls hear a scream and go and see what it is but its not just the acting students, its something else... WWW: We have had good lighting so far and good weather to suit our film. EBI: The planes are a big issue whilst we have been filming as the background noise is very loud. It is also a bit time consuming as we have to try and wait till there are no planes flying overhead. It also was hard to get everyone together to shoot for a long time and the acting is not that professional. We next plan to film this Thursday and Monday/Tuesday (10/17) To edit we used final cut pro. These are the clips in chronological order as we edit them. I added music from youtube and converted it to an mp4 so I could use the music in our film. I used the custom generator to allow me to have sound from the following clip in the previous one making the film flow better and smoother.

REPRESENTATION: can be found in all forms of media and it is the way particular groups within society and presented to an audience.
In media representation can be both positive and negative and can be stereotypical or anti-stereotypical. The following are categories of representations that can be found in tv drama:
Representation can be shown through the four areas of textual analysis. These are:
Camera shots, angles, movements and composition:
EDITING: Includes transition of image and sound continuity and non continuity editing.
Representation can also be present in the narrative of the TV drama. For example, one might be able to infer something about a character's class based on the quality on the area they live in. HOTEL BABALON (TV SHOW): ETHINICITY In this Tv show representations of ethnicity is different between the immigrants, black people, and the white people. Through sound the immigrants are represented as worried and sad. At the end of the clip sad music is played with the illegal immigrants being taken away it is as if no one wants them to be in their country. They don't have anything left in life so they just try to hide. Posh music is played for the white people and more dramatic music is played when the immigrants are trying to hide so they are not taken away. When the black people are in a room cramped the man helping a woman who has collapsed because she is diabetic says "i wasn't always a doctor". This shows the stereotype and that he used to be a doctor. The mise-en-scene shows the white people are usually the ones who are poshly dresses, with good jobs and seem quite relaxed. There is also a lighter atmosphere for the white people and the furniture is really posh where as the immigrants are in a more dimmed light, underground with small rooms that are not very posh. Most of the immigrants are either cleaners, chefs or workers showing the complete opposite jobs. The camera work has shots of immigrants on the ground making us sympathise for them more and there are lower shots of them telling us that they are at a lower position that the white people. There is a complete juxtaposition of characters and the immigrants are shown in a cramped room like animals behind bars. The white people have lots of space and have more freedom. |
